The health and life safety of the MIT community members is of utmost importance to the Institute, whether on or off-campus. The Institute provides the following programs and resources to ensure your health and safety when you are off campus, whether domestic or international.

International Safety and Security Program

The International Safety and Security program emphasizes planning and preparedness to mitigate the likelihood an unfortunate circumstance will disrupt travel and affect the traveler. In the event of an incident, MIT has an international emergency team ready to provide assistance and response. In addition, MIT contracts with International SOS, the world’s largest medical and security assistance company, to provide our community with international medical, security and travel assistance. Domestic Emergencies Plan

If an incident occurs that affects off-campus MIT community members or those traveling domestically, MIT will activate it’s Domestic Emergency Plan. The purpose of this plan is to provide appropriate resources to affected MIT community members, whether they are live off-campus or are travelling for personal or Institute-related reasons.
